Well, you can tell by the look on my face that I am a happy camper. On the last day of our shoot for Season 15 of “Sara’s Weeknight Meals,” we visited the Golden Guernsey Goats in Guernsey https://www.visitguernsey.com/experiences/activities/golden-guernsey-goats-farm/ and the goat keeper, Peter Girard, offered to let me hold a baby goat. He scooped up this little lady, named Tiny, a mere 2 weeks old, and let me hold her. It took me a minute to figure out how to hold this small creature as she had long spindly legs that did not tuck in easily, but after a few minutes I applied the Iron Grip (which I use on my son’s nervous dog Puddles to calm him down) and she snoozed off. I felt like a champion.
Meanwhile, these goats are endangered so please, if you go to Guernsey, visit the farm, schedule a time to feed the goats, and buy all their delicious goat cheese. Guernsey is known for its dairy, mostly products from cows, but these goats give the cows a run for their money. And, duh, they are much cuter.
