Just got back from Europe shooting Season 15 of “Sara’s Weeknight Meals” and here’s one of the first things I learned to make in Oporto Portugal – a sort of alcholic Dagwood sandwich called a Francesinha, a take on the French Croque Monsieur. It’s an assortment of meats stuffed between two pieces of bread, topped with a fried egg, wrapped in much cheese and served with a sauce made of cognac, port, red wine, white wine, beer and meat stock. Quite over the top!!! Recipe will be posted in the fall when the episode airs.
