On July 12 I prepared a dinner for 16 people at my house to celebrate Jacques Pepin’s 90th birthday and raise money for the Jacques Pepin Foundation. Not only did I bring in $1600 for the JPF but I also had a great dinner party. It made me realize how important it is to get together with family and friends over a meal and just talk and eat.
If you would like to throw a party, fancy or casual and raise some money you can get all sorts of help from the JPF website. https://www.celebratejacques.org/host-an-event/in-home/
Meanwhile, where does all the money go? Here is the mission statement from the foundation:
We “support community-based kitchens that offer culinary training to adults with high barriers to employment, including those impacted by the justice system, those experiencing homelessness, individuals in recovery, or those that have been underserved. ”
