Two Minute Eggnog

 

Serves 4 to 6

2 pints premium-quality vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup rum, cognac, or bourbon or more to taste
Pinch freshly grated nutmeg

Place the ice cream in a large covered glasss or stainless steel bowl in the refrigerator to thaw. Stir in the rum or desired flavoring and nutmeg. Blend well. Serve cold.

    A couple of suggested notes about the ingredients:

    1. If you use premium ice cream (like Haagen-Dazs) that is sold in downsized 14 ounce “pints”, adjust the volume of spirits from 4 fl. oz. to 3.5 fl. oz. (3 oz + 1 tablespoon).

    2. The premium ice cream should include eggs in its ingredients list, as the ice cream is being used here for its quality as a custard. Premium ice cream typically shows a weight in its nutritional information of over 90 grams per half cup serving (or
