Meet my new favorite culinary oil – Argan, from Morocco. It has an absolutely delicious nutty taste, reminds me a little of pumpkin seed oil (but less intense) and can be used in all sorts of applications – in dressings, to flavor grains, drizzled on grilled protein or vegetables, and my favorite way – as a dip for bread. Argan oil is extracted from the seeds in the nut of the fruit of the argan tree that grows in southwest Morocco. This particular brand is imported from producers that employ about 500 women from 6 different female-run cooperatives and family farmers in Morocco. So win win!
