I just took a river cruise in Provence with The Husband for our 35th Wedding Anniversary and it turned out to be the perfect way to celebrate the occasion. Come along as we explore this area of France and discover some amazing food.
Hello from Lyon: We are excited to be in Lyon and can’t wait to explore the city.
Day Two and Three in Lyon: Dinner at La Tassee, a walk to the fountain in the Place de la Republique, and a morning visit to the Musee de Beaux Arts.
A Look at the Market in Lyon: Today we boarded our ship, the Viking Heimdal, and checked out the local foods at Les Halles in Lyon.
Today We Are in Perouges: This afternoon, we left the ship for a bus trip to Perouges, a medieval stone village set atop a little mountain.
Day Five, We Visit the City of Vienne: We were charmed by the small mountain-top Roman city of Vienne.
Day Six on the River: Today we visited Tournon Sur Rhone and Viviers and enjoyed an amazing chocolate cake and pastries on the ship.
In France They Have Cars Just My Size: We spent Day Seven of our Rhone River Cruise exploring Avignone but saved time for two amazing meals.
The Last Day of our French Cruise: On the last day of our cruise we docked in Tarascon and visited Arles and Baux-de Provence.
