The Soil Farm

Sasha Marsh and Jock Pettitt noticed that 98 per cent of Guernsey was reliant on imports for food, and those who did farm used small plots scattered over the island that were depleted from centuries of use.

They operate a regenerative pasture system where beef cattle, pigs and chickens are moved in small cells within a field which is then rested for 100 days with the grazing, trampling and fertilizing stimulating new growth. This combination of stimulation and rest improves the eco system of the land to harvest the most nutrient dense chemical free food possible.

They sell compost, grow and sell vegetables and operate a ‘Farm Store’ where other purveyors from the island can sell their food products. For more info go here: https:https://www.soil.gg
