In the middle of these rough times, I’ve found that puzzling is one of the most distracting, calming things I can do. It gives me a sense of control at a time when I feel confounded by the global chaos. I stick to 500-piece puzzles because the 1000-plus versions are too much sometimes. I pick calm topics: animals (especially dogs), gardens, shops, a boat harbor, etc. and lay out the pieces on my designated puzzle table. Of course, you may not be a puzzle person (not everyone is), but if you’re feeling stressed, I highly recommend giving a puzzle a whirl. It’s a problem you can solve.
