The Foodservice Council for Women celebrated its 5th Anniversary at the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York which took place Sunday, March 6 through Tuesday, March 8 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. The Foodservice Council for Women, a seminar series held during three restaurant and foodservice events produced by Urban Expositions was founded in 2011. On Monday, March 7th, the Council’s founders, Kathleen Wood and Ferdinand Metz presented the organization’s Beacon Award to me. At the event I demonstrated a dish featuring local New York ingredients followed by a book signing. The first 100 attendees at the event received a copy of “Sara Moulton’s Home Cooking 101: How to Make Everything Taste Better.”
