Sara’s Weeknight Meals: Season 10

Episode 1002: Snacks for Dinner

Hotel La Placa, Madremanya, Spain

Snack your way through dinner with these delicious small bites from all over the world.  I start at the birthplace of appetizers for dinner – Catalonia, Spain.  There I taste the famous jamon with a local chef, who teaches me two quick tapas – a Spanish Omelet and simple, Pan Con Tomate (Bread with Tomatoes).  In Instanbul, I sample local cheese at the market, then join some Turkish natives for Mushroom String Cheese Dip slathered on bread. I answer a viewer’s question about spices on Ask Sara, and finally, make my own new favorite snack, a decadent Alsatian Onion Pie with melty Gruyere cheese from the Alps.
